Auckland Workshop on Global Climate Change

By Jolyon / 18 May 2009

Workshop on Global Climate Change
‘Climate change’ is a hotly debated topic which provides an opportunity for Christian churches and other faith communities to explore the spiritual dimensions of environmental concerns and to support each other in living more sustainably.

Holy Trinity Cathedral Parnell is hosting a workshop on Saturday, June 6 from 9 am to 4 pm to explore the science, theology, politics and economics of global climate change in a time of economic recession and resource depletion. It will also explore ways of living more sustainably. The workshop is provided by the Anglican Diocesan Climate Change Action Group, comprising a scientist, a theologian, a financial journalist, an engineer and others. This group has conducted workshops throughout Auckland over the last 18 months. $20 waged, $10 unwaged. Registrations: pip.colgan@xtra.co.nz. Tea and coffee provided, BYO lunch. For details  ’ph Richard Milne at 575-4279 (evenings)

About us

This site is run by the Social Justice Commission of the Anglican Church.

We seek to nurture justice spirituality and imagination, and engage in advocacy in all areas of life, overcoming poverty and transforming violence.

We encourage people to think and live “justly”, and emphasise debate and action on local, national and global issues.

Although we are Anglican, our vision isn’t so much about being Anglican. It’s about living justly. Justice is about how you live your life, and being just where we are. Working together, we can all flourish.
