Eco Footprint

By Anne / 28 October 2008

There’s a new and improved online quiz to calculate your ecological footprint, for anyone interested: www.myfootprint.org/en/

According to this, the average NZ footprint is 57.5 global hectares. If my maths is correct (which is not a given…), we’d need 3.66 Earths to sustain the global population if everyone lived like the average kiwi.

To be honest, I was surprised that my food footprint is only marginally smaller than the average Kiwi since I don’t eat meat. Away with the smugness of vegetarianism then!

About us

This site is run by the Social Justice Commission of the Anglican Church.

We seek to nurture justice spirituality and imagination, and engage in advocacy in all areas of life, overcoming poverty and transforming violence.

We encourage people to think and live “justly”, and emphasise debate and action on local, national and global issues.

Although we are Anglican, our vision isn’t so much about being Anglican. It’s about living justly. Justice is about how you live your life, and being just where we are. Working together, we can all flourish.
