Making a difference
There are lots of ways you can make a difference by doing what you can, where you are. It’s the normal things which make a difference. Of course, you may like to consider contributing to the ministry of this office in a more direct way – if so, you’ll be pleased to know there is something in it for you, too (other than the really good vibe!).
There are lots of ways you can contribute – here are just three suggestions.
Firstly, you may have a recipe you would like to contribute. Is there food and a story to go with it that you would be willing to share? Food and justice go together for all sorts of reasons, and the things we cook often come with a story attached – it might be a story of families, of longings, of protest, of hope. It might be a plain story or an extravagant story – just like the food! (the same goes for stories of work you are engaged in, of course – we would love to hear!)
Second, you might like to become one of our online reviewers – music, books, films. If so, get in touch. As is usual with such things, we supply you with a copy of the item for review, which is yours to keep. If you have things you would especially like to review, we’d also love to hear from you.
Thirdly, please continue to pray for the work of this office, the work of the Commission, and the life of this church as it seeks to make God’s justice known in these islands. Feel free to email us with prayer requests of your own, or add these to our website under a new category
Contributors to Just Living receive a DVD or Book Token as a koha, and we also give away a DVD to the person with the best contribution to the website each month.
In addition, we are always on the look out for art (of all kinds) and poetry that we can use to help increase engagement in and awareness of justice and injustice in these islands. Art has a way of causing us to see the world differently – and that’s what justice is all about too. So if you are an artist, or know of things which might be of interest, do get in touch – you might have the cover for our next resource or Just Living!
Peace
Anthony
