Not so clean and green after all!

By / 6 October 2008

I never expected New Zealand to be an oil exporter. But we are. Crude oil is now one of our most valuable exports -at least by a capitalist definition. Currently, cude oil is our third most valueable export when ranked by market value – just behind dairy (1st) and meat products (2nd). I’ve been trying to get my head around this for while, but I still don’t quite believe it! Prehaps we’re not so clean and green after all! ”

100% Pure” Yeah right! New Zealand exports coal all over the world. So much for carbon neutral!

About us

This site is run by the Social Justice Commission of the Anglican Church.

We seek to nurture justice spirituality and imagination, and engage in advocacy in all areas of life, overcoming poverty and transforming violence.

We encourage people to think and live “justly”, and emphasise debate and action on local, national and global issues.

Although we are Anglican, our vision isn’t so much about being Anglican. It’s about living justly. Justice is about how you live your life, and being just where we are. Working together, we can all flourish.
