When: 5.15-7.30 pm Wednesday 16 May 2007
Where: Lecture Theatre 1, Rutherford House, cnr Bunny St & Lambton Quay, Wellington

Submissions on climate change and energy policies closed at the end of March. The government has been considering them and will soon be in a position to put in place New Zealand’s domestic policy response to the climate change challenge.

Join EDS as we discuss the hopefully firming policy options with key political and business leaders and find whether a multi-party consensus is possible on what the policy settings should be.

Confirmed Participants are:-

Hon David Parker, Minister Responsible for Climate Change Issues

Hon Nick Smith, National’s Environment Spokesperson

Jeanette Fitzsimons, Co-leader Green Party

Peter Neilson, Chief Executive NZ Business Council for Sustainable Development

Moderator: Gary Taylor, Chairman EDS

Drinks and finger food are available from 5.15 pm in the foyer.

EDS is grateful to Chapman Tripp for providing hospitality

Please rsvp to manager@eds.org.nz to secure your place.

About us

This site is run by the Social Justice Commission of the Anglican Church.

We seek to nurture justice spirituality and imagination, and engage in advocacy in all areas of life, overcoming poverty and transforming violence.

We encourage people to think and live “justly”, and emphasise debate and action on local, national and global issues.

Although we are Anglican, our vision isn’t so much about being Anglican. It’s about living justly. Justice is about how you live your life, and being just where we are. Working together, we can all flourish.
