picture-1.jpgAccording to Mark Ontkush “When your screen is white – either an empty word page, or a Google page, your computer consumes 74 watts, and when it’s black it consumes only 59
watts.

Based on the fact that Google gets 200 million queries a day, he calculated the energy saving that would be achieved if Google had a black screen: 750 mega watts/hour per year.

In response, we now have Blackle (by Google). The same functions as the white version of Google, but lower energy consumption.

About us

This site is run by the Social Justice Commission of the Anglican Church.

We seek to nurture justice spirituality and imagination, and engage in advocacy in all areas of life, overcoming poverty and transforming violence.

We encourage people to think and live “justly”, and emphasise debate and action on local, national and global issues.

Although we are Anglican, our vision isn’t so much about being Anglican. It’s about living justly. Justice is about how you live your life, and being just where we are. Working together, we can all flourish.
