Slippery John….
Michael Cullen was on fine form in the house yesterday, making the most of some stumbling by John Key, and asking some important questions about National’s policies on Treaty settlement and national assets.
Key flip-flopped in confusion yesterday about his party’s policies. Chinks in his media armor are beginning to show it seems.
Making a decision to secure strategic assets was a great step by Cullen. It’s a shame he thinks that foreshore and seabed are not strategic!
While on a role, Cullen also draws attention to National’s views on Working for Families, KiwiSaver, and Minimum Wage – all of which he knows full well that National have moved position on, and that’s an important move for the country for the better (it’s all about making political capital of course). That National change their policies and make policy initiatives sustainable for any possible future government has to be a good thing for this country, and National need commending for their responsiveness – although as I’ve said before, people are seeking power here, and the closer to the electoral wire they get the more desperate that may sometimes seem.
Funny how quick we are to give away our power in politics….
