Commenting from my perspective as a member of the Diocese of Waiapu Synod held after the adoption of the 1992 Constitution, both Maori and Pakeha members were sad to be parted. Pastorates and parishes all had representation at Synod and shared decision making and fellowship.
Subsequently resources were re-distributed on an agreed basis and now the three regions of the Waiapu Diocese work in partnership with the adjacent areas, or Rohe, of Tikanga Maori.
This has allowed Te Reo Maori to be developed and where fellowship has been desired Rohe and parishes have come together for joint worship services of their own accord.
I don't believe that legislating for Tikanga Rua would be desirable.

Sheila
As the date of the post indicates, this is an historical document, designed to provide background. It's part of a work in progress. It's worth also knowing that a followup to Te Kaupapa Tikanga Rua is coming out very soon via the Social Justice Commission.
Why not write a post about the 1992 Constitution from your perspective? I am sure people would be very interested.

There is no mention of the new Anglican Constitution adopted in 1992, which established an equal partnership between Maori, Pakeha and Polynesia. The more recent talk of Tikanga Rua for New Zealand seems to me to put us back to where we where before, one church with the inevitable minority.
The present set-up in my parish works very well. We have a joint service at alternate venues every fifth Sunday in the year.
What do you think ?
